This is not a mobile service

Unlike other services on this site, convertible roof systems are repaired in our workshop in Altea. We don’t come to your car. We start with a video assessment on WhatsApp: you send us a clip of the roof opening or closing, and we tell you if we can help and what to expect. If we can, we book you in to bring the car to Altea.

Common symptoms

Problems we see most often

If one of these looks familiar, send us a video. We’ll tell you if it’s something we can fix.

The roof won’t close

You press the button and nothing happens, or the cycle starts and stops halfway. Usually a sensor, a microswitch, or a synchronisation problem.

It stops halfway through

The cycle interrupts partway. Common causes are position sensors, hydraulic pressure, or a mechanical obstruction in the guides.

Oil stain under the car

A drip or stain on the ground, usually near where the roof hydraulics are. Almost always a leak in the hydraulic circuit.

Nothing happens when you press the button

No sound, no movement. Could be the switch itself, the control module, or a power supply issue.

Pump noise, no movement

You can hear the pump running but the roof doesn’t move. Usually means a loss of hydraulic pressure.

What we fix

Full roof system

We work on five areas of the system. What we don’t do is as clear as what we do — see below.

Hydraulics

Cylinders, pump, hoses and lines. We locate leaks, replace components and bleed the circuit.

Sensors and microswitches

Microswitches are the most common reason a roof cycle won’t start or won’t finish. We test and replace them.

Electronics and diagnostics

Reading the roof control module, checking power supply and input/output signals.

Adjustment and calibration

Mechanical adjustment of the mechanism and calibration of the system so the cycle opens and closes correctly.

Preventive maintenance

Drain cleaning, guide lubrication and general check. Extends the system’s life and avoids bigger repairs.

What we don’t do

We don’t do soft-top canvas replacement, rear window replacement or gluing, or interior retrimming. If that’s what you need, this isn’t the service for you — and we’d rather tell you before you bring the car.

How it works

Four steps, from video to repaired car

It always starts with the video. That’s what lets us tell you if we can help before you move the car.

1

Send a video on WhatsApp

Record the roof trying to open or close. Tell us make, model, year, and what happens. It’s a 30-second message.

2

We assess it

From the video we tell you if we can help, what’s likely failing, and whether it’s worth bringing the car to Altea.

3

Book it in

If we can do it, we agree a day and you bring the car to our workshop in Altea. Fixed quote before we start.

4

Repair and test

We repair, run the full cycle several times to confirm, and hand you the car back with an invoice.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us before bringing the car in.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the fault and the car’s roof system. We don’t quote before seeing the video, because two faults that look similar can need very different work. After the video assessment we give you a fixed quote — and that price doesn’t change once you accept it.

How long does the repair take?

Depends on what’s failing. Simple hydraulic or sensor faults are usually resolved in a few days; electronics or full adjustment can take longer. The video assessment includes an estimated timescale before you bring the car in.

Do you replace the canvas?

No. Our work is the mechanical, hydraulic and electronic system of the roof — not the fabric. We don’t do canvas replacement, rear window replacement or gluing, or upholstery. We’d rather tell you clearly before you bring the car.

Which models do you work with?

Confirmed experience with Peugeot CC (206, 207, 307, 308), Mercedes SLK (older and newer generations), Opel Astra Twin Top and Mini Cabrio. If your model isn’t listed, get in touch with a video anyway — we’ll tell you if we can help before you travel.

Do I have to bring the car to the workshop?

Yes. Convertible roof systems are worked on in our workshop in Altea, not on-site. We need the car with us: test bench, full diagnosis, several openings and closings to verify the cycle. It’s the only way to do it properly.

Why do you ask for a video first?

Because a video of the roof opening or closing tells us far more than a written description. From it we can see whether the issue is hydraulic, electric or mechanical, whether it’s a sensor or the pump, and whether it’s worth you making the trip. If it’s not something we can fix, we say so before you move the car.
