The problem

Your car won’t start and the nearest taller tells you to bring it in

Which is exactly what you cannot do. The car is in the car park, or on the street outside the urbanisation, or at the campsite. You don’t have a tow, and even if you did, the taller won’t look at it before Tuesday.

We work the other way round. You send a message with the make, model and what the car is doing. We drive out to you, plug in a diagnostic scanner, and tell you in plain English what the car is actually doing — before anyone talks about parts or prices.

If it’s a job we can finish on the spot, we finish it. If it needs a workshop or a part we don’t carry, we say so honestly and hand you over to a partner we trust — instead of dragging out a call-out that won’t help you.

What we deal with

The calls we get

If your car is doing one of these things, we’ve seen it before. Send us a message and tell us which one sounds closest.

No crank / no start

You turn the key or press the button and nothing happens. Sometimes the dashboard lights up, sometimes it doesn’t. Different causes, different jobs.

Battery going flat overnight

The car starts fine in the morning, but if it sits for two days it’s dead again. That’s a parasitic drain — something is pulling power with the ignition off.

Alternator not charging

The battery light comes on while you’re driving. The car may run for another twenty minutes, then it dies. This is charging, not the battery itself.

Starter motor and solenoid

One loud click and nothing. Or a slow, heavy crank that almost starts and then gives up. The starter is usually the problem.

Dashboard warning lights

A new light appears and you don’t know whether you can keep driving. Some mean stop now, some mean book it in. We tell you which is which.

Stored fault codes

The car isn’t running right, but no light is on. The ECU has stored codes you can’t see without a scanner. We read them on the spot and explain them.

Wiring and earth faults

Lights that flicker, gadgets that work sometimes and not others, fuses that blow for no obvious reason. Usually a wiring or earth issue.

Immobiliser and key problems

The car won’t turn over and the key symbol is showing, or the fob stopped being recognised out of nowhere. Common after battery changes and cold snaps.

If it’s not on this list, message us anyway. We’ll tell you honestly whether we can help or whether you need a different specialist. Everything here is based on what you’ll actually notice — not on what a scanner says in a language you don’t speak.

How it works

Four steps, and you know the price before we leave

No vague estimates, no «we’ll see when we get there». You know what the visit costs before we get in the van.

1

You send a WhatsApp

Tell us the make, model and year. Describe what the car is doing and, if you can, send a photo of the dashboard. That’s often enough to know roughly what we’re dealing with.

2

We agree the diagnostic fee

The call-out and diagnostic have a fixed price, and we confirm it in the chat before we set off. No surprise charges when we arrive.

3

We come out and read the car

Plug in the scanner, read live data, check battery, charging and starter with a multimeter. We’re looking for the actual cause — not just the code that happened to come up first.

4

We tell you the options

Fix it now, order a part (local 1 day, from Germany or Poland 3 days), or take it to a workshop if that’s the honest answer. You decide with the information in front of you.

If it’s a job we can finish on the spot, we finish it. If it needs a part we don’t have, we say so — and you’re not left waiting for a callback that doesn’t come.

What it costs

We tell you the price before we leave

Diagnostic

The call-out and the diagnostic scan have a fixed price. We confirm it in the chat before setting off, so there are no surprises when we arrive. If a repair needs parts, we quote for the whole job before starting.

Parts

If a part needs to be ordered, half is paid up front and half when the work is finished. Local parts usually arrive next day. Parts ordered from Germany or Poland take around three days, and we tell you that straight away.

No pointless charges

If, once we’re there, the honest answer is «this needs a workshop» or «you don’t need a repair at all», we say so. You don’t pay extra for a diagnosis that stops where it should.

Why English matters here

Half the problems in car repairs on this coast come from translation, not mechanics

It’s the same story we hear again and again. Someone drops the car at a taller, nods along to an explanation they only half understood, and agrees to a part swap that wasn’t needed. Two months later the same light is on and the same problem is back.

We don’t think that’s a language problem — we think it’s an information problem. You’re asked to make a decision about your car without being told, in a language you actually understand, what the options are and what each one costs.

Everything we do here is done in English. Explaining what the scanner says, what the fault means, what we can and can’t fix on the spot, and what we’d do if it were our car. No pressure, no jargon, no «the computer says so».

Real job

Stranded in Valencia — and it wasn’t a language problem

A Spanish driver, Spanish car, Spanish insurance — and still stuck. His own insurance wouldn’t arrange the recovery, so we found a recovery truck, got the car moved the same day, and fitted a new alternator. He collected the car the next morning.

People assume the problem on this coast is the language. It isn’t. The problem is that nothing moves quickly — and that happens to Spanish drivers just as much as it happens to you.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The questions we get most often before a first call-out.

Do you actually speak English, or is it Google Translate?

Yes — everything is done in English. On WhatsApp, on the phone, in person and on the invoice. You don’t need to bring a translator or hope the receptionist knows enough. If we ever need a Spanish term for a specific part, we say both.

Can you come to a campsite or a gated urbanisation?

Yes. We regularly go to campsites along the coast and to gated urbanisations. What we need from you in the message: the exact address or pitch number, and the gate code or the name to give at the barrier. If the car is in an underground garage, tell us the height limit and we’ll confirm we can get the van in.

What does a call-out cost?

The call-out and the diagnostic scan are a fixed fee, and we confirm it in the WhatsApp chat before we set off. That way there are no surprises on the day. If the car needs parts or a repair, we quote for the whole job before starting — and if the honest answer is «this needs a workshop», you don’t pay extra for a diagnostic that stops there.

Will you fix it the same day?

Often, yes — if the fault is something we can diagnose and fix on the spot, and if the part is in stock locally. If a part has to be ordered from Germany or Poland, that’s around three days, and we tell you that straight away instead of pretending otherwise. What we won’t do is promise same-day and then not show up.

Do I get an invoice?

Yes, always. A proper factura from an autonomo, itemising the work done and any parts used. You’ll need it for your records and for anything insurance or warranty-related later. If you want it made out to a company name rather than your own, tell us when we confirm the job.

What if the car needs a workshop?

We say so — honestly and before you’ve paid for anything pointless. Some jobs need a lift, specific tooling or a specialist. In that case we tell you what the problem is, what kind of shop can fix it, and hand you over to a partner we trust if you want. We don’t keep you on the line to run up a diagnostic bill.
