Why this area is different

No mobile mechanic here — and even the big chains have stopped taking motorhomes

Most motorhome owners on the northern Costa Blanca already know the routine. You ring a taller in Calpe or Dénia. They say yes, bring it in. Then you mention it’s a 3.5-tonne motorhome, and either the conversation ends there, or you’re offered a slot three weeks out in the one bay that might fit it. Some places don’t even get that far — First Stop in Dénia, for example, no longer does tyre service for motorhomes at all.

It’s not about the job being hard. It’s geometry. A two-post ramp is built for a car. A motorhome 6–7 metres long, close to 3 metres tall, 3.5 tonnes on the scales — it doesn’t fit. So either you’re turned away, or you’re queuing for the one lift that can take it.

And here’s the part nobody talks about: there is no mobile motorhome mechanic in Calpe, Jávea or Dénia. Camper Man Costa is in La Marina, an hour south. The closest dedicated mobile service for a motorhome this size is either in Benidorm or out of the area entirely. That’s the gap we fill.

We come to you. The jobs that strand a motorhome — starting, charging, diesel, electrics, diagnostics — don’t need a lift in the first place. We work at your pitch, your campsite or your storage, and most jobs get finished where the vehicle is parked.

Calpe, Jávea, Dénia, Moraira — this is our northern working area. We’re here, not driving out from somewhere else.

Where we come to

Calpe · Jávea · Dénia · Moraira · Benitachell · Benissa

These are the towns and areas we cover on the northern Costa Blanca. If your van is somewhere else in this zone — a private storage, a residential street, a campsite not listed here — message us anyway. If it’s legal and safe to work there, we’ll come.

Calpe

Paraiso Camper (formerly Odissea Camper Area) · campsites along the N-332 · residential areas · storage yards · private driveways

Jávea / Xàbia

Campsites and camper stops in Jávea · Arenal · the port area · residential streets and urbanizaciones where the van is parked legally

Dénia

Camping and camper areas · Les Marines · the port area · residential streets · Carvisa area and surrounding storage

Moraira · Benitachell · Benissa

Residential areas · urbanizaciones · private parking · campsites and camper stops in the inland coastal zone

One thing worth knowing: on-street parking rules in Calpe and Jávea are stricter in summer than in winter. If you’re parked on a public road or a car park, tell us when you message — the work is normally fine, but we’ll confirm before we set off.

What we do at your pitch

Base vehicle work — engine, electrics, diagnostics

None of this needs a lift. All of it gets done where the van is parked.

Won’t start

Battery, starter, immobiliser, ignition, fuel supply. We diagnose at the pitch and tell you what it actually is.

Starter motor

One of the most common motorhome call-outs. On most base vehicles, we swap it at the pitch without a lift.

Alternator and charging

Charging faults, voltage drop under load, split charge between starter and leisure, the alternator itself when it’s failed.

Batteries — starter and leisure

Testing, replacement, why the leisure battery goes flat overnight. Starter side is ours; habitation side has its own page.

Wiring and electrical faults

Fuses, connectors, earth faults, intermittent faults that only show up after rain or in the heat.

Fault code reading

Engine management light on? We read the codes and explain what they mean in plain English — including the ones that say «ignore me».

Diesel work

Injectors, pump, glow plugs, low rail pressure. Everything we do on diesel cars and vans, we do on motorhomes — the base engine is the same.

Overheating

Radiator, thermostat, coolant leaks, fans not kicking in — the classic summer breakdown on a long climb. Fixed at the pitch where possible.

Brakes, suspension and oil change

Pads, discs, brake fluid, visual suspension checks, oil and filter — everything that doesn’t need the vehicle off the ground.

Base vehicles: Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer, Citroën Relay / Jumper, Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter, Iveco Daily, Renault Master.

Two systems, one van

Base vehicle and habitation — we work on both

A motorhome is two machines in one. The base vehicle — engine, starter, alternator, diesel, wiring, diagnostics — is a commercial van. The habitation side — 12V, solar, water, fridges, damp, aircon — is everything that makes it a home. Most workshops here only handle one. We handle both.

Base vehicle — what we do

  • Won’t start — battery, starter, immobiliser, ignition, fuel
  • Starter motor — swap at the pitch on most bases
  • Alternator and charging faults
  • Split charge, voltage drop under load
  • Wiring and electrical fault tracing
  • Fault code reading and diagnostics
  • Diesel — injectors, pump, glow plugs, rail pressure
  • Overheating — radiator, thermostat, coolant leaks
  • Brakes, suspension and oil change — no lift

Habitation — what we do

  • Leisure batteries — testing, replacement, lithium upgrades
  • Solar — install, diagnose, controller upgrades
  • 230V and campsite hookup — RCD, sockets, charger
  • Water systems — pump, tanks, leaks, boiler
  • Fridges — 12V and 230V side
  • Damp checks — moisture meter, readings, resealing
  • Air conditioning — service and repair

We’re in the same Facebook groups you are

If you’ve asked a question in the local Calpe, Jávea or Dénia groups — or in any of the wider Costa Blanca communities — you already know the pattern. Someone asks for a mechanic. Someone else replies with a name. «He’s honest.» «He explains everything.» «He won’t rip you off.» «He’s been my mechanic for years.» That’s how it works here. Not reviews, not rankings — recommendations from people who’ve used the service.

We sit in those same groups. Not to advertise — to read. We see the questions as they come in. We see what people are actually worried about when they ask. And we see the pattern in what makes a recommendation stick: honesty, clear explanation, someone who shows up, someone who comes back if something isn’t right.

So here’s what «trustworthy» means to us, in practice. Not a promise — the six things we hold ourselves to, every job:

Fixed quote before we start

You know the price before we touch anything. If the job grows, we stop and tell you — you decide.

We explain what’s actually wrong

Not «the fault code says X, that’ll be €400». We tell you what the fault is, what caused it, and what your options are.

You see the parts invoice

Parts at cost — the price we paid. We don’t make money on parts. We make money on the work.

We say no when it’s not our job

If it needs a lift, a gas fitter or a body shop, we tell you before we set off. No call-out fee for a job we can’t do.

Real lead times, told upfront

Local parts next working day. Germany or Poland: about three days. You know before you commit — not after you’ve waited a week.

We don’t disappear

If a fault comes back, message us. That’s not a new job — that’s the same job. We stand behind what we’ve done.

British and European owners on this coast are already our clients. You can see the record on our real jobs page → — actual jobs, photos, what went wrong and what we did. That’s what «trustworthy» looks like written down.

What we don’t do — and we’ll say so

Being honest about the limits is more useful than pretending there aren’t any. If a job isn’t ours, we tell you before you commit.

  • Gas work. Gas installations on motorhomes in Spain need a certified installer with the correct Spanish registration. We don’t hold it. If your problem is gas-related, we’ll point you at someone properly qualified.
  • Heavy chassis, welding, bodywork. These need a workshop with a lift. We tell you which type and help you organise it.
  • Full camper conversions from scratch. That’s a fitter’s job, and most of it happens in a workshop. We diagnose and repair the electrical side of an existing conversion — we don’t build new ones.
  • Anything that needs a lift we can’t do at the pitch. Chassis work, gearbox, clutch, wheel bearings. We tell you upfront and help coordinate the next step.

The honesty about that boundary is the point. You don’t get charged a call-out fee for a job we can’t do.

Before winter / before you set off

Pre-winter check — planned, not an emergency

If you’re staying on the northern Costa Blanca through the winter, a check before the season starts is worth more than a breakdown call-out in January. We come out, run through the usual suspects, and tell you what needs doing — or confirm that the van is fine.

It’s a planned booking, not an emergency. Better for you because we can pick a day that suits. Better for us because we can schedule around it.

  • Battery test — starter and leisure
  • Charging system — alternator and split charge
  • Fault codes — read and explained
  • DPF — check regeneration status and soot load
  • Fluid levels and visual leaks
  • Belt condition
  • Lights and electrical — everything working

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What owners in Calpe, Jávea and Dénia ask us before a first call-out.

Do you cover Calpe, Jávea and Dénia — or just one of them?

All three, plus Moraira, Benitachell, Benissa and Teulada. This is our northern working area — not a one-off drive-out from the south. What that means in practice: when you message, we’re checking our diary, not calculating whether the trip is worth it. The call-out depends on where you are relative to where we are on the day, and we confirm it before you commit.

Can you come to Paraiso Camper or the campsites in Jávea and Dénia?

Yes — we work at Paraiso Camper in Calpe regularly, at the campsites in Jávea and Dénia, and at the camper stops and storage areas in between. What we need from you in the message: the site name, your pitch number, and anything the barrier needs — a code, your name on a list, whatever it is. Some sites want advance notice that a mechanic is coming on site. That’s normally fine, but tell us if it’s a site that doesn’t allow it.

Do you speak English? What about German?

English is the main working language, and we work with German-speaking owners as well. The whole conversation — WhatsApp, diagnosis, explanation of the fault, invoice — happens in English or German. You don’t need a translator or to describe a mechanical problem in Spanish. We work with British, German, Dutch and Scandinavian owners on this coast regularly.

How fast can you come?

Same day where possible — evenings and weekends included. Saturday 9:00–20:00, Sunday 10:00–18:00, weekday evenings until 21:00. Same day, not same hour: it’s one van on the road, and if the call before yours is in Benidorm and you’re in Jávea, you’ll wait a couple of hours rather than twenty minutes. What we do promise is a realistic arrival window before we set off, and we keep it.

Are your prices different for Calpe or Dénia than for other areas?

No — prices are the same as everywhere else we cover. What changes is the call-out, which depends on where you are relative to us on the day. We confirm the call-out when you message, before you commit to anything. Nothing is added after the visit.

Can you come to a van parked on the street, not at a campsite?

Yes, as long as it’s legal and safe to work where it’s parked. Residential streets in Calpe and Jávea are generally fine if you’re not blocking traffic, driveways or a bus stop. What we can’t do is work on a vehicle on double yellows, in a bus lane, or blocking access. Message us with the exact location and a photo if you’re not sure — we’ll tell you straight away.
