Mobile Motorhome Mechanic in Altea — Engine, Electrics, Diagnostics
Your van is 3.5 tonnes, 7 metres long, and it’s where you live. The talleres here work on cars — not on motorhomes this size. We come to your pitch, your campsite or your storage, and most jobs get finished there.

Why Altea is different
Altea, Albir and L’Alfàs aren’t Benidorm — and that’s exactly the point
This side of the coast is a different world from Benidorm. Slower, quieter, more residential. The mix here isn’t just British — it’s Dutch, German, Scandinavian, Belgian, Norwegian, and everything in between. People from five or six countries, on the same stretch of coast, living side by side.
Which means the language you use when something goes wrong isn’t your own — it’s English. Not because you can’t speak Spanish, but because English is the neutral ground here. When you’re asking someone to explain what’s wrong with your van, and whether it’s safe to drive, and how much it’s going to cost — you want that conversation to be certain, not a negotiation with a dictionary.
And the deeper issue, the one that’s not about language: the talleres here work on cars. Bersan, Autocenter, Poli’s, Autobersan — all good garages, all set up for a BMW 3 Series or a Toyota. A 3.5-tonne motorhome, 6–7 metres long, doesn’t fit their lift. It’s not laziness. It’s geometry. A two-post ramp is built for a car.
We work the other way round. The jobs that strand a motorhome — starting, charging, diesel, electrics, diagnostics — don’t need a lift in the first place. We come to your pitch, your campsite or your storage, and most jobs get finished where the vehicle is parked.
We’re not a Benidorm business driving out here. We’re here. Altea, Albir and L’Alfàs are part of our regular working area.
Where we come to
Altea, Albir, L’Alfàs and La Nucía — at your pitch
These are the campsites and areas we work on most often in this part of the coast. If your van is somewhere else — a private storage, a residential street, a different campsite — message us anyway. If it’s legal and safe to work there, we’ll come.
Campsites — Albir
Camper Park San Antonio · Camping Cap Blanch · Camping San Antonio — we work on pitches at all three, regularly
Altea and Altea la Vella
Residential streets where the van is parked legally · private driveways · storage yards · the car parks along the N-332
L’Alfàs del Pi
Residential areas · urbanizaciones · private parking · campsites and camper stops in and around the town
La Nucía and inland
La Nucía · Polop · Callosa d’en Sarrià · Guadalest valley — 15 minutes from Benidorm, our regular working radius
One thing worth knowing: on-street parking rules in Altea and Albir are stricter in summer than in winter. If you’re parked on a public road or a car park, tell us when you message — the work is normally fine, but we’ll confirm before we set off, so no one wastes a trip.
What we do at your pitch
Base vehicle work — engine, electrics, diagnostics
None of this needs a lift. All of it gets done where the van is parked.
Won’t start
Battery, starter, immobiliser, ignition, fuel supply. We diagnose at the pitch and tell you what it actually is.
Starter motor
One of the most common motorhome call-outs. On most base vehicles, we swap it at the pitch without a lift.
Alternator and charging
Charging faults, voltage drop under load, split charge between starter and leisure, the alternator itself when it’s failed.
Batteries — starter and leisure
Testing, replacement, why the leisure battery goes flat overnight. Starter side is ours; habitation side has its own page.
Wiring and electrical faults
Fuses, connectors, earth faults, intermittent faults that only show up after rain or in the heat.
Fault code reading
Engine management light on? We read the codes and explain what they mean in plain English — including the ones that say «ignore me».
Diesel work
Injectors, pump, glow plugs, low rail pressure. Everything we do on diesel cars and vans, we do on motorhomes — the base engine is the same.
Overheating
Radiator, thermostat, coolant leaks, fans not kicking in — the classic summer breakdown on a long climb. Fixed at the pitch where possible.
Brakes, suspension and oil change
Pads, discs, brake fluid, visual suspension checks, oil and filter — everything that doesn’t need the vehicle off the ground.
Base vehicles: Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer, Citroën Relay / Jumper, Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter, Iveco Daily, Renault Master.
Two systems, one van
Base vehicle and habitation — we work on both
A motorhome is two machines in one. The base vehicle — engine, starter, alternator, diesel, wiring, diagnostics — is a commercial van. The habitation side — 12V, solar, water, fridges, damp, aircon — is everything that makes it a home. Most workshops here only handle one. We handle both.

If you’re not sure which side your problem is on, message us with what’s happening and we’ll tell you. There’s no charge for that conversation.
We’re in the same Facebook groups you are
If you’ve asked a question in the local L’Alfàs, Altea or Albir groups — or in any of the wider Costa Blanca communities — you already know the pattern. Someone asks for a mechanic. Someone else replies with a name. «He’s honest.» «He explains everything.» «He won’t rip you off.» «He’s been my mechanic for years.» That’s how it works here. Not reviews, not rankings — recommendations from people who’ve used the service.
We sit in those same groups. Not to advertise — to read. We see the questions as they come in. We see what people are actually worried about when they ask. And we see the pattern in what makes a recommendation stick: honesty, clear explanation, someone who shows up, someone who comes back if something isn’t right.
So here’s what «trustworthy» means to us, in practice. Not a promise — the six things we hold ourselves to, every job:
Fixed quote before we start
You know the price before we touch anything. If the job grows, we stop and tell you — you decide.
We explain what’s actually wrong
Not «the fault code says X, that’ll be €400». We tell you what the fault is, what caused it, and what your options are.
You see the parts invoice
Parts at cost — the price we paid. We don’t make money on parts. We make money on the work.
We say no when it’s not our job
If it needs a lift, a gas fitter or a body shop, we tell you before we set off. No call-out fee for a job we can’t do.
Real lead times, told upfront
Local parts next working day. Germany or Poland: about three days. You know before you commit — not after you’ve waited a week.
We don’t disappear
If a fault comes back, message us. That’s not a new job — that’s the same job. We stand behind what we’ve done.
British owners on this coast are already our clients. You can see the record on our real jobs page → — actual jobs, photos, what went wrong and what we did. That’s what «trustworthy» looks like written down.
What we don’t do — and we’ll say so
Being honest about the limits is more useful than pretending there aren’t any. If a job isn’t ours, we tell you before you commit.
- Gas work. Gas installations on motorhomes in Spain need a certified installer with the correct Spanish registration. We don’t hold it. If your problem is gas-related, we’ll point you at someone properly qualified.
- Heavy chassis, welding, bodywork. These need a workshop with a lift. We tell you which type and help you organise it.
- Full camper conversions from scratch. That’s a fitter’s job, and most of it happens in a workshop. We diagnose and repair the electrical side of an existing conversion — we don’t build new ones.
- Anything that needs a lift we can’t do at the pitch. Chassis work, gearbox, clutch, wheel bearings. We tell you upfront and help coordinate the next step.
The honesty about that boundary is the point. You don’t get charged a call-out fee for a job we can’t do.
Before winter / before you set off
Pre-winter check — planned, not an emergency
If you’re staying in this part of the coast through the winter, a check before the season starts is worth more than a breakdown call-out in January. We come out, run through the usual suspects, and tell you what needs doing — or confirm that the van is fine.
It’s a planned booking, not an emergency. Better for you because we can pick a day that suits. Better for us because we can schedule around it.
- Battery test — starter and leisure
- Charging system — alternator and split charge
- Fault codes — read and explained
- DPF — check regeneration status and soot load
- Fluid levels and visual leaks
- Belt condition
- Lights and electrical — everything working
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What owners in Altea, Albir and L’Alfàs ask us before a first call-out.
Are you based in Altea, or do you drive out from Benidorm?
Altea, Albir, L’Alfàs and La Nucía are part of our regular working area — not a one-off drive-out. We’re about 15 minutes from Benidorm and we cover both sides of the coast. What that means in practice: when you message us, we’re not calculating «is this worth the trip» — we’re just checking our diary. If we’re already in the area, the call-out is often the same as if we were round the corner.
Can you come to Camper Park San Antonio or Camping Cap Blanch?
Yes — we work on pitches at both sites regularly, and at Camping San Antonio too. What we need from you in the message: the site name, your pitch number, and anything the barrier needs — a code, your name on a list, whatever it is. Some sites want advance notice that a mechanic is coming on site. That’s normally fine, but tell us if it’s a site that doesn’t allow it, so we can plan accordingly.
Do you speak English?
Yes — the whole conversation happens in English. WhatsApp, diagnosis, explanation of the fault, invoice. You don’t need to bring a translator or describe a mechanical problem in Spanish. We work with British, Dutch, German and Scandinavian owners on this coast regularly, and English is the working language we all share.
How fast can you come?
Same day where possible — evenings and weekends included. Saturday 9:00–20:00, Sunday 10:00–18:00, weekday evenings until 21:00. Same day, not same hour: it’s one van on the road, and if the call before yours is in Benidorm and you’re in Altea, you’ll wait a couple of hours rather than twenty minutes. What we do promise is a realistic arrival window before we set off, and we keep it.
Are your prices different for Altea than for other areas?
No — prices are the same as everywhere else we cover. What changes is the call-out, which depends on where you are relative to us on the day. We confirm the call-out when you message, before you commit to anything. Nothing is added after the visit.
Can you come to a van parked on the street, not at a campsite?
Yes, as long as it’s legal and safe to work where it’s parked. Residential streets in Altea and Albir are generally fine as long as you’re not blocking traffic, driveways or a bus stop. What we can’t do is work on a vehicle that’s on double yellows, in a bus lane, or blocking access. Message us with the exact location and a photo if you’re not sure — we’ll tell you straight away.
