Why nothing gets fixed
There are motorhome lifts in Spain — there just aren’t enough of them
If you’ve tried to get a motorhome into a Spanish workshop, you already know how this goes. The lifts that fit a motorhome exist. What’s scarce is the slots — most talleres have one bay that can take a vehicle this size, and everyone in the queue is waiting for the same one.
A real case from this summer: the recovery took two weeks to arrive. Then the motorhome sat in the queue for the lift for another two weeks. That’s over a month without the vehicle — and it’s not just transport, it’s where you live. You’re either living in it, or it’s parked on a campsite and you’ve got a departure date.
We work the other way round. We come to your pitch, your aire or your storage yard, and around nine jobs in ten get finished where the vehicle is parked. That same starter motor job — the one that sat in a queue for a month — took us one and a half hours at the pitch.
We’re not saying we can fix everything at your pitch — the next section covers what genuinely needs a workshop. What we’re saying is: most jobs don’t, and the queue isn’t the job, it’s the shortage of lifts.
What we do at your pitch
Nine jobs in ten, finished where you’re parked
None of this needs a lift. All of it gets done with the tools in the van.
Won’t start
Battery, starter motor, immobiliser, ignition, fuel supply. We diagnose at the pitch and tell you what it actually is.
Starter motor
One of the most common motorhome call-outs. We carry out the swap on most base vehicles without a lift.
Alternator and charging
Charging problems, split charge between starter and leisure batteries, voltage drop under load.
Batteries — starter and leisure
Testing, replacement, split-charge wiring, why the leisure battery is going flat overnight.
Wiring and electrical faults
Fuses, connectors, earth faults, lights that don’t work, intermittent faults that only show up after rain.
Fault code reading
Engine management light on? We read the codes and tell you what they mean — not just what the scanner says.
Diesel work
Injectors, pump, glow plugs, low rail pressure. Everything we do on diesel cars, we do on motorhomes.
Brakes and suspension — up to a limit
Pads, discs, brake fluid, visual suspension checks. Anything that doesn’t need the vehicle lifted, we handle at the pitch.
Oil and filter change
Oil to your engine’s exact specification, filter changed, old oil taken away and disposed of legally.
What needs a workshop — and we’ll say so
The whole point of this service is that we’re honest about what we can and can’t do at your pitch. If it needs a lift or a pit, we tell you before we set off — and we organise it, so you’re not the one ringing round workshops.
- Anything that needs the vehicle off the ground — chassis work, wheel bearings, some suspension jobs, exhaust work in the middle of the vehicle.
- Gearbox and clutch work. These need a lift and, on most motorhomes, a transmission jack that doesn’t fit under a two-post ramp either.
- Anything that needs the wheels off and the vehicle up. Tyres we don’t do — that’s a tyre shop. Brake discs on some models do need a lift.
- Heavy fabrication and welding. Chassis repair, sill repair, mounting brackets — that’s a bodyshop job.
When a job needs a workshop, we tell you which type — a general taller with a motorhome bay, a bodyshop, a tyre shop — and we help coordinate. You don’t get left with «that’s not something we do» and no next step.
Before you set off
Pre-travel check — the service nobody thinks to book
A motorhome that breaks down 300 km into a long trip is a lot more expensive than one that gets checked before it leaves. We offer a pre-travel service: we come out, run through the usual suspects, and tell you what needs doing before you go — or confirm that the vehicle is fine.
It’s a planned booking, not an emergency call. Better for you because we can pick a day that suits, better for us because we can schedule around it.
- Battery test — starter and leisure
- Charging system — alternator and split charge
- Fluid levels and visual leaks
- Belt condition
- Fault codes — read and explained
- Tyres and pressures — visual, and we tell you if anything looks marginal
- Lights and electrical — everything working before you go
Where we come to

Types of location
Campsites, aires, private storage yards, urbanisations, wild-camping spots. If access needs a code, a name at the gate or a pitch number, tell us in the message.
If you’re further south — Alicante, Torrevieja — message us with your location. Depending on the job and the day, we can often still get there.
Real job
A motorhome, a dead starter, and a family due to drive home
The starter motor gave up the day before they were due to set off. Every workshop was shut for the weekend.
We came out on the Saturday, confirmed it was the starter and not the battery, got the part in, and fitted it first thing Monday. The family drove home on schedule.
Other motorhome services

Same team, same area, different side of the vehicle.

Oil and filter change
Oil to your engine’s exact specification, old oil taken away and disposed of legally.
Caravan repair
Damp, electrics, chassis, brakes and running gear — for caravans, not motorhomes.
Guides for motorhomers in Spain
Before you call anyone — read these
Written from what we see on the coast every week. No scare tactics, no sales pitches — just what actually happens and what to do about it.
Bringing your motorhome to Spain
The practical stuff nobody tells you. Paying for things, cash, finding a mechanic before you need one, breakdown cover, aires, and what to do if it all goes wrong.
Read the guide →Breakdown — what to do, in order
Six symptoms that strand a motorhome: won’t start, flat leisure battery, warning light, tyre, overheating, limp mode. What each one means, what to check yourself, when to call.
Read the guide →Car trouble in Spain — who to call
The full picture: how the grúa works, what breakdown cover really covers, what to do at a roadside, and how to avoid the most expensive mistakes.

Frequently asked questions
What owners ask us before a first call-out.
Can you really do this at a campsite?
Yes. We regularly work at campsites, aires and storage yards across the northern Costa Blanca. What we need from you in the message: the site name, your pitch number and anything the barrier needs — a code, your name on a list, whatever it is. Some sites want to know in advance that a mechanic is coming on site. That’s normally fine, but tell us if it’s a site that doesn’t allow it, so we can plan accordingly.
What if it needs a workshop?
We say so before we set off. Some jobs genuinely need a lift or a pit — chassis work, gearbox, some suspension. When that’s the case, we tell you what kind of workshop you need and help you organise it. What we won’t do is take a call-out, charge you a diagnostic, and then say «actually this needs a taller». The honesty about that boundary is the whole point of this service.
Do you work on the habitation side too?
Yes — leisure batteries, solar, 12V and 230V, water systems, fridges, damp checks, air conditioning. That’s our habitation service, done by our team at your pitch. Full details on the habitation service page →
What base vehicles do you work on?
The usual motorhome platforms: Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer, Citroën Relay, Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter and Iveco Daily. These cover the vast majority of what’s on the road here. If your vehicle is something else — an older Renault Master, a rare base, an American RV — message us with the make and model and we’ll tell you honestly whether we can help.
How fast can you come?
Same day where possible — evenings and weekends included. Not same hour: it’s one van, and if the call before yours is someone in Calpe, you’ll wait a couple of hours rather than twenty minutes. What we do promise is a realistic arrival window before we set off, and we keep it.
Do you give an invoice?
Yes, always. A proper factura from an autonomo, itemising the work and parts. Useful for records, useful for insurance, and useful when you sell the vehicle later. If you need it made out to a company name rather than your own, tell us when we confirm the job.
